Help with humbucking schematic

Here is the schematic:
http://www.seymourduncan.com/website/support/schematics/lp_custom_wiring_schematic.pdf

OK, I understand this schematic pretty well as far as how and why the connections work (No small acheivement for one who has always believed that electricity was magic and electronics black magic.) What I don't know is, how do I ensure that when I set the three position switch in the middle (Phat Cat + Rotary switch) and the five position rotary switch to #2 (Bridge single coil) or #4 (neck single coil) that I get a humbucking effect. If I wire it exactly as the schematic says, will I get what I want or do I have to change anything?

Also, the ground wire from the neck pickup splits and goes to both #5 and #3 of the rotary switch. Can I just run a jumpter between #5 and #3 instead of splitting the line?

Thanks.

Jeff

BTW - I tried to attach an image of my soon to be guitar design. It started out as a kind of homage to my D-18 vintage slothead but has taken on a life of its own. https://home.comcast.net/~jchumley/guitar.jpg
