Help with P/U readings

Just installed a new 3-way selector in my old Schecter PT with a DiMarzio Dual Sound in the neck, and a Duncan Invader in the bridge, with 500k split volume and tone pots. While diagnosing a ground buzz, decided to read the pickups at all settings. Here's what a found.

Switch Position - No Split - Neck Split - Bridge Split - Both Split
Neck - 13.41 - 7.86 - 14.19 - 7.80
Middle - 7.38 - 5.76 - 5.93 - 4.59
Bridge -15.60 - 16.37 - 8.83 - 8.78

All readings are in ohms, read off the guitar cable, so readings will be a little low.

What I am puzzled with is the readings of both pickups, split and not split. Shouldn't this be higher? The guitar volume has always gone down when the switch is set to the middle, although I rarely use both pickups together.

Re: Help with P/U readings

The "both pickups on" selection combines them in parallel. A similar DC resistance drop occurs on positions 2 and 4 of a Stratocaster selector switch.
