Help with pickup & mini toggle switch wiring

Hi folks. New to the forums and hoping for some help.

I'm wiring up a guitar with 3 new SD pups, all 4wire + ground. The guitar uses 3 mini toggles to act as pickup selectors I.e. all OFF or all ON, and any combo in between. There is no blade type selector switch, never was. 1 volume and 1 tone.

The toggles are 2 position SPST on/on (or on/off?). Everything has been rewired and works as it should.

What I want to do is change the mini toggles to allow coil splitting on each pup. So each switch would have 3 positions: 1) normal dual coils/humbucker, 2) coil split and 3) off.

Putting in an additional (large) blade/toggle selector switch is not an option. Neither is/are push-pull pots...for now.

So after all that, can it be done? If so, do I need 3 position DPDT ON/ON/ON or On/OFF/ON minis? And how do I connect the pup leads to the switch terminal lugs?

There are probably several ways to do this. Yes you'll need 3 DPDT on/on/on switches, one for each pup.

Picture the switch's lugs as follows:

1 4
2 5
3 6

Connect the red and white wires to lug #2,
Connect #3 and #6 to ground,
Connect black to #5,
Connect #4 to the vol pot.

When the switch is down, you'll get humbucker, in the middle is split, up is off. Just turn it upside down if you want the positions reversed.

2 questions if I could....

1) Do the green and bare go to ground as usual?

2) I have the switches connected to each other, I.e. bridge sw to middle sw to neck sw to vol pot. Instead of #4 to vol pot, can I keep those connections using #4 and connect only the #4 on the neck pup to the vol pot? Or does each sw (all #4) have to be connected directly to the vol pot.

1) Yes, green and bare go directly to ground.

2) I'm not quite sure what you're saying. You can either connect each #4 wire to the vol pot input lug, or you can connect all #4 wires together and run just one wire to the vol pot, or you can connect #4 of the bridge sw to the #4 of the middle sw and then to the #4 of the neck sw and finally #4 of the neck sw to the vol pot. They are electrically the same.

It's the latter in the above... bridge #4 lug to mid #4 lug to neck #4 lug to vol pot.
