Help with threads

Hi,
This is as good a place to ask as any, I suppose, but I have tried over and over, to no avail to find all the threads I've started, and I am trying in the private message/all around edit page. I posted once about an aerosol that instantly takes logos off regular plastic without harm to the plastic.
No sanding or anything. I have lost it and the guy who told me about it doesn't work for LMMI anymore.
I was sure I posted it as it was a miracle cleaner, even took the gold off my Strat knobs to make it even whiter. It was a spray can, greenish aerosol spray can called CVC (similar) but it's not. I just bought CVC contact cleaner and it didn't work.

Re: Help with threads

Contact cleaner is for cleaning electronic contacts (like pots or switches).

I often use CRC Bräkleen (brake cleaner) for stuff like that, but it's strong enough that you need to be careful with plastics.

try some Mother's Aluminum Mag Polish and a cotton tip applicator (q-tip)

Re: Help with threads

CRC's product containers are generally colored according to the type of product. Their green cans are mainly cleaners and degreasers but there are a bunch of them and they may not all be plastic safe. Check the CRC website, they have been around forever.

Re: Help with threads

So which CRC product is it? I've used rubbing alcohol but that only works "okay".

I have no idea. SJ318 said CVC and green aerosol can. I'm thinking he means CRC ... they have lots of green cans but that may at least narrow it down to manufacturer.

Re: Help with threads

Every one,
Thanks. Got the page. But could not find post. Guess I must have placed it in an on going thread by somebody else.
Maybe I did mean CRC. I just don't remember. It worked like hot water rinsing off a dusty jar. Logo's volume knobs, just right off, no effect on plast. Seymour Logo or anything. greekdude- does that page also show when you posted in other threads?
No Luck on the page Pepe sent me, But I must have hit everything but the right one. Yours was right to were I needed.
I'll go to the hardware store website and find CRC.
Thanks.
