help with tone

Here is a video clip of a band called The Audition, and I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on a pickup to get the tone of the rhythm guitar. 37 seconds into the song is a good place to hear it. The guitar will be a Les Paul custom and the amp is a Mesa Roadster. I have a Bill Lawrence XL-500 and an SD Full Shred on the way, as well as an SD Jazz and 59.

With all that gear, you can certainly get that tone.. just play with it. I'm not really sure why youd want to play like that, but hey, to each his own.
