help with wiring up Quarter Pound P-Bass

hello,

I bought a used American Precision bass that has no pickup, electronics, or wiring installed. I also bought a Duncan SPB-3 Quarter Pound P-Bass pickup and I want to wire this bass up with the "standard" passive P-Bass setup: 1 Vol & 1 Tone.

I was wondering what kind of pots I needed. 500k for the volume? 250k for the tone? or should the tone be 500k?

and also the capacitor for the tone circuit, do I need .047uf?

thanks!

Except use a .047 uf capacitor.

I'm not sure if that's an error or intentional in the diagram but I've never seen a .022 uf capacitor used in a bass application.

.02 will retain more mids when you turn down the tone control though. Might want to experiment and see which does the trick for you. Caps are so cheap (under $1) it's worth trying both just to see.

Easier to experiment on the Jazz Bass than a P-Bass though.
