I agree about this guys production. It’s great.
A friend of mine from work wanted to learn guitar. He knows absolutely nothing about music/guitars.
He told me he wanted to buy a semi hollow for his first guitar. Although that’s his prerogative I told him I didn’t think that was a good idea for a first guitar.
He then finds a video from this guy comparing a semi vs a solid body playing Metallica riffs. Of course both guitars in the vid sounded eerily similar.
I had to explain to my friend how production/post production eq, compression etc all worked in the context of what we see and hear on YouTube.
I’m not saying that this guy is trying to deceive anyone, but of course to put out vids that are on par with his quality there’s a ton of studio work that goes into it.
