I own a Peavey JSX and I want to up the gain a little bit. Could I change the plate resistor on the front of V2 (crunch/ultra channel) to a higher value and get more gain? Like say 100k to a 120k. Or would it just crap out my tone? Thanx for lookin.

I played a XXX today and I really liked the Ultra channel. The Ultra on the JSX is pretty much the crunch channel on the XXX.

I just De-modded one of my amps from a certain very silly Blackface mod I did years ago B4 I knew better.:smack: Part of that mod was to replace the 100k plate load resistors with 120k in VI. My amp sounds better now with the 100k's back in. It never was a hugh difference, But I wasn't going for the ultra high gain thing.
