Well here she is..........finally

I got it back from my tech guru, after that mishap with the other idiot tech. She plays beautifully and looks pretty darn good i think.

Alder Trans red body, one piece maple neck, birdseye. Callaham trem, SD Zebra JB, SD Hot Rails. Schallers. Abalone inlays and side inlays.
He also dug out a bit of the alder where the humbucker is and put a slab of maple there and the pickup screws direct on the wood but has the pickup ring just for looks. That is why the screw part on the ring is custom routed out. That was my idea.

It is about 7.9 pounds and reasonates like crazy.
Maybe i would preffer it a tad bid heavier, who knows, it is pretty perfect as far as weight goes.
I dont know if i would want to take the satin finish off the neck tho. Bare necks are too awesome feeling. It is too pretty tho....so i am afraid for it to get dirty.

What do you guys think??

Vinterland i got super jealous after all those Charvel anniversary pics, so i had to go out and make this one! You think i got it a bit close to par with the charvel??

I love it ! It looks great, simple and to the point! Nothing extra and nothing missing. I love maple necked strats with JB's in the bridge and a single in the neck, or in your case hotrail. Love that color and the inlay too, don't ever change a thing!

That looks niiiice! Congratulations.

A question though: The maple piece that you screwed the pickup in, it's screwed into the body? I like the idea.

Dude that thing is sweet with the birdseye neck and the abalone inlays. I love abalone against maple. That candy apple red just pops out in the pictures. A definate fitting tribute to Charvel.

I've never heard of a Callaham trem. Is it just another take on a vintage trem design?

I love it. Sounds sweet too. Plus it needs lots of breaking in so it has a way to go on the tone bettering.

Vinterland: the Callaham is supposed to be the absolute best in vintage bridges. Cold rolled steel etc.....sounds great. I made this man after seeing the one you bought and i was eyeing it for awhile. definately Charvel inspired!

Robbie: I was worried about the pickups not matching as well in terms of output but they are totally perfect. The hot rails is a humbucker remember so it has plenty o output.

Xssive: Should i start calling mine clones as well?! lol. hey i got that neck from Musikraft, they were really nice in ordering. waiting for it now to get here!

The maple block that was put in under the JB is glued in there and sprayed with that electrical paint. My tech does immaculate work! So it is one with the body. He made a template to use with the router so it came out perfect.
He said i am picky and strange with my guitar, but that is not necessarily bad! lol

New stuff rocks but it need tons of hours of playing to break in.........................cause old stuff to me rocks even more!

What's the best way to take care of the maple board?

I heared maple needs a special treatment.
