Give it a shot... it will suck for rhythm, but for JUST soloing, it should have a pretty distinct sound... I run a DiMarzio Super Distortion in the neck of my les paul, sucks ass for rhythm, but I usually only do solo's on the neck, unless i'm doing clean tones...

Give it a try, and if it sucks throw it out or get a better amp.

Nah, if you want a good match with the X2N for the neck the Dimarzio Super II matches perfect. Its high output but its wound at 8.7k. Which is nice for a vintage sound but it really cuts through and is very loud, and sounds amazing clean.
