All,
I was wondering if anyone can recommend a good (not necessarily ultra-pro quality, but good) condenser mic for micing my amp in church.
In the past I had used Shure KSM27s, and I liked how they are cardoid pattern and have a -15dB attenuation for loud (high SPL) things like my amp.
I am hoping to find something by Shure. The church I am now at does not have any microphones with -15dB, so they can't put a mic (close) on my amp, and I cannot play it loud because the vocalists are in front of me.
I really don't want to have to go into the sound system via direct box from the Line Out on my Boss ME-50 (it is meant for headphones, not professional sound quality, at least on the Line Out). It sounds much less organic that way, but I have no choice right now.
Anyways, so, I'm in the market for a cardoid pattern condenser mic with -15dB attenuation. I am looking at new, but used could work. Phantom power capable is a plus (since the sound board has phantom power).
That or any other solutions you guys know of that will make this work for me. Thanks!
Things that are interesting me so far: Shure PG27 and Audio-Technica AT8202 Adjustable Inline Attenuator.
