I've got a maple neck strat with an Original Floyd rose, 500k pots. Here's what I tried in it:

Full shred: insanely bright, too much for that guitar

JB: very nice, better than the full shred but still a little bright

Dime: haven't tried it in a strat but have it in a Ibanez S serie mahogany body, maple bolt-on, rosewood board; still not sure about that pup, very bright, needs a very dark guitar= not a strat

The JB is still in the strat but if I were to continue the quest for tone with that guitar, I'd go for the Custom (my favorite Duncan up to now) or the Custom Custom. Haven't tried the Distortion yet. Hope this helps.
