Hiwatt vs Marshall

Re: Hiwatt vs Marshall

being a massive Who fan i've always had this crazy idea to have Pete's stage set up from the 75 American Tour... 7 Hiwatt cabs-(6 behind him and 1 on johns side of the stage... a reverb unit, a rack EQ, a few pedals like the Fuzz and Dynacomp.... and a bunch of LP Goldtops.... and maybe a few modded LP's like he started using in 1976 with the middle Pickup.... crazy man!!!!

Of course that is just a pipe dream... for myself i have to be more carefull with money and buy only what i could really use instead of a massive rig menat to kill ear drums....
Not to mention three Hiwatt CP103s...

360w of all-tube British power running through 28 high-efficiency Fane loudspeakers... damn, that has got to be loud.

Oddly i have heard 2 different stories on Pete's live rig.... some syat he bottom row was the only cabs on... but i have a video interview with The Who's stage manager from a UK tv show from 1979 and he explains that Pete uses Fanes in the bottom cabs and JBL in the top cabs.... besides this 28 year old VHS tape i have no other info on the JBL's in any other interview source....

All anyone will say is it is one loud rig!!!!!

I was standing beside 2 Hiwatt full stacks for a Who Tribute act show and i had ear plugs in and i was still deaf the next 3 days

I think I'll be fine with a CP504 (50w) half-stack (w/ 2x12s) for a LONG time... now I just need like $2500./=
