im working on my cousins guitar, a fatstrat copy no name brand, but he wants my ibanez GRX. ive been thinking about offering him a trade for the ibanez, which is pretty much stock, except for one pup i replaced.
i could give it the old fender makeover. only thing i would have do is new tuners, new pickguard, and replace the bucker with a single coil and make a regular 3 coil strat.
think it would be worth it? i have no idea what kinda wood this thing is made of but the thing plays really great for a $100 guitar. and it would be a fair trade for trade for the GRX...well a little generous on my part:smack: ... but i have no use for it.
any way if i do this, when i change the single coils, should i get the ones with staggered pole pieces or flush pole pieces? would that make any huge difference in the sound? the 2 singles that are on it now have flush mounted pole pieces.
