Um people. Since I need to go outside alot with my guitar and it's below 0 here ( in the winter ). I was wondering if a hard case would be better then my crappy gig bag since I heard it can damage and or shrink the wood of your guitar if it's exposed to really cold weather. I kind of got the message since my neck moved on me. The 6th string is thumping a bit against the metal bars on my fretboard.

So yea, any suggestions on a good way to keep my guitar was in a case? Since I cant get a ride all the time .. Sigh ..

Re: Hmmph ..

a case would be the way to go, even when its not cold, it just offers better protection. Yes the weather has a big deal to do with the wood in your guitar mainly the neck. It's basic Physical Science. Heat expands and cold contracts, even though you might not be able to physically see it, when you have your guitar in a hot enviorment for a period of time the wood expands changing the feel, playability of your guitar and the same goes for when it's in a very cold eviornment. Best advise is if you're going to have to take it out into a cold evironment for an extended period of time then back into a warmer climate, let it sit in your case for about 15-20min before you take it out, give it time to reach room temp, If you expose a already cold guitar to a warmer climate quickly your looking at some bad juujuu!

As for the problem you mentioned about your strings buzzing aginst the fret wire a simple set up would probably fix that issue barring any major damage.

And just a friendly word to the wise, With using the banana comes special powers and responsibility, use it wisely and sparingly.
