hollowbody guitars

hello,
im looking for a a good hollowbody. my ideal guitar would be a prs hollowbody II, but its way too expensive. what i especially love about it is the wide/fat neck. im willing to spend up to $1200 used. im leaning towards a hamer ewport or artist. id rather not get a gibson because i dont trust them. the music i play is really weird. i just want a nice sound for indie, jazz, classical. can you guys tell me a little about your experiences with different hollowbodys? thanks

Gibson ES-339. Ultimate semi-hollow right there.

Hard to find a nice 335 for less than $1800, although I've seen them go on Ebay once in a while for $1500 or 1600. You gotta search Ebay everyday.

I loved my Hamer Monoco Super Pro - I think you're on the right track looking at used Hamer USA guitars like the Artist or Monoco.

Or maybe youll get lucky and find a nice ES-335 on Ebay.

Oohh, forgot about Gretsch. I'd seriously suggest looking for some vintage 60's Gretches such as the Double Anniversary model. Depending on condition, they can be had from 1,000 to 2,400. The lower end of the price being reliced but still a real good player. There's one that I restored here at the local shop going for 1,400.

thanks guys. i was going to offer at the hamer korina artist ut i didnt want to jump to a conclusions just yet. im in the process, yet again, of gutting my whole rig.
on a side note, im definently putting some SDs is there. im thinking phat cats, or a jazz in the neck and god knows what in the bridge

Yamaha SA2200 are very nice but the neck is on the slim side
