"Holy Grail" Hamer Standard

Re: "Holy Grail" Hamer Standard

I remember seeing the "Don Kirshner's Rock Concert" w/Hatchet on it,man, they just killed...

BTMN,did you hear about the "Black Molly" show that's coming?
Don't know specifics, but it's (ex?) members of Hatchet & Blackfoot...

Re: "Holy Grail" Hamer Standard

Bunch of splinter Southern Rawk bands. Had not heard of that one. There are 3 Blackfoot guys left. Rick in LS, leaves Charlie Haggart and Greg the bass player. So who is in with whatever fragment of Hatchet there would be. OUCH! Crump isn't playing, Roland has past, Banner is in Jax in a local band, Steve Holland? Riff West? Hlubek is in Hatchet and DJB is, well, gone off with Jackson the drummer from Blackfoot sadly. :dunno:

Here is Sherry Baby with Dave

Re: "Holy Grail" Hamer Standard

Bought a new Nikon Coolpix SS3300 today so I shot a couple shots of the '79. Since that auction and a couple others, I have had my two old Hamers out and playing them.

Ummm that answer is a good 5 minute conversation. Differant builders of 1975 to 1985 Standards and then the guys that built them 1995 until today. There were changes such as going from a Gibber style control cavity to a triangled hole. Desireable OH YEAH!!! :friday:

To me, my two are my '59 Les Pauls. But that is only my opinion. :cool2:

Click on the tab guitars then the standard tab to learn all you want then I will try to answer any other questions. The one I posted above is #0076 it has the Gibber style cavity. That lasted until about #0100 IIRC.

Yep Hamer moved from Chicago in the late 80's and let a bunch of folks go. When Washburn opened the USA CS in that same time period in Chicago they hired a bunch of them. Then Grover Jackson came in to run the Washburn CS. The Grover Jackson era Washburn USA's that I have were built by many of those old Hamer craftsmen + some Grover brought with him from Jackson.
These guitars!

Re: "Holy Grail" Hamer Standard

We posted about Washburn hiring the Hamer guys. We were talking about how similar the Daytona is to a couple of those Washys. The move for Hamer from Arlington Hieghts to Ct. was in 1996.

What year is that A20?
