Homebrew Electronics UFO Fuzz/Octave YouTube demo:

A self explanatory thread title. The demo is quite good. I tend to use mine with less "Fuzz" (left knob), but a lot more "Level" (right knob). I find it to be quite a versatile piece. I tend to gravite more toward Iggy Pop/Stooges fuzz-tones...rather than the beloved (and rightfully so) buttery Clapton tone.

I prefer the "vintage" setting as it preserves the dynamics and clarity under high "Level" settings.

Cool demo. Nice playing. I wish you could have access to such a demo for each pedal out there. It would supersede all the hassle necessary sometime just to get your hand on such and such model.

Note the tone @ 7:54...you get to hear the "octaver" effect of Hendrix' "Purple Haze" as he plays the outro at the end of the tune. This pedal is not a clone, nor claims to be a "retro" pedal, but octavers do tend to get wilder harmonically above the 12th fret or so.

I dig it.

i liked that pedal, but in the end i went with my demeter. I liked it a little bit more.

Funny...I have Fulltone Ultimate Octave and want to check out the HBE UFO!!!

I've played both and prefer the UFO by far. The UO is great for a vintage sounding octave, while the UFO can go from vintage Fuzzface/Octavia to Big Muff with ease. I also remember the UFO having more available volume which can be nice if your amp is rather compressed.

Re: Homebrew Electronics UFO Fuzz/Octave YouTube demo:

I've just ordered a slew of HBE pedals, the UFO being 1 of them, so I'm glad you showed me this video as it really expands on the available tones from this pedal than other clips I've heard of it :)

The UFO is a GREAT pedal....I picked it up in a trade & loved the fuzz side/never really got into the octave side.

Eventually, I got rid of it when, after looking for some smaller pedals, I went with the Tonefactor Huckleberry (GREAT fuzz!).....and then, go figure, I moved that for an Analogman Sunlion !

Bigger pedal than both of those, but it's a combined fuzz & boost, so....2 birds/1 stone....BIG TONE :D

You guys won't be disappointed with the UFO at all !!!! :beerchug:
