Hot rails neck used, what's the difference ?

on ebay i seen these 2 for sale

the 2nd seems to have like metal rods, what are the differences in sound ? or is it just a broken then repaired pickup ?

Oh, i think i see the dfiference now, one is a 2 conductor and 2nd is a 4 conductor right ?

The second one is a Vintage Rails. If the person selling it didn't know that, the first one could just as easily be a Cool Rails. You need to see the sticker on the bottom to know for sure.

Not so fast . . . both the Cool Rails and Vintage Rails are great pups. Especially the CR. On the other hand, if you specifically want a Hot Rails, then you have a point.

yeah, i'm looking for a good middle-lead pickup in combo with the PATB1-n and PATB3b which i ordered today
