The stock Schaller pickups were just not getting it done in my H 357 Firebird.
A good friend of mine had a Seymour Duncan INVADER bridge laying around and said i should try it, that it was a great sounding pickup. This Invader meters at 16.6 ohms. Then to top it off, i found an old Duncan JB neck!
Since i was tearing into it, I decided to put all new 500k CTS pots in it and .022 Russian PIO caps in it too.
What a huge difference in tone...not muddy, like the Schallers were in this guitar. This guitar is pretty dark sounding as it is....because it is all mahogony.
The Invader is a great Rock pickup! Wonderful note definition, very pick responsive. The JB neck is EXTREEMLY FAT...creamy and warm! These 2 are a great combo!!!!
Here are a couple shots....and a new family shot....
