Hot Stack for Strat Bridge...almost there. Suggestions ?

The guitar is a American Strat Plus, two post hipshot trem bridge, rosewood board, LSR nut, 10-46 strings. Had Dimarzio Area 58, 58, 61 combo. Stock 250K pots. Never been quite where I want with the bridge P/U. Just put in a Duncan Hot Stack. The chords are just right, I like the mid bite and snarl on the wound strings, but the unwound strings, especially the B and E strings on higher frets, are still a bit thin and shrill to me. If I had a pickup that would give me the nice mid bite that the hot stack does on the low and mid strings, and round out and fatten up might highs a bit, I'd be there. To make matters even more complicated, I still want a decent quack tone in the bridge/mid position. The Hot Stack does a decent job in that department (with the area 58, treble bleed cap, and volume rolled back a bit). I've tried the 54 Pro and the Heavy Blues and I like the Hot Stack better than either of them.

Any recommendations ? Maybe one of the real humbucker types like one of the cool rails, lil 59, etc ? I want to retain a big fat strat bridge tone, keep decent notch position quack, and fatten up the highs without taking the bite and edge off of the low and mids.

Always searching....

Thanks in advance.

Sounds like the Cool Rails would be more to your liking.

Some 0.5 to 2.0 nF capacitor in parallel to the pickup (in front of the switch) might fix this. Possibly a larger capacitor.
