Hot stack neck on PRS Mac Carty

Hello, I'm a beginner with pickups, and with this really good forum too. And, I need some help.

I play on a Mc Carty PRS, with originals Mc Carty humbuckers. The guitar is really good for me. Generaly, I split the humbuckers, and I like this single coil sound.

I'm not looking for a type of sound like "strat" or "tele". I just know that I need single coil well balanced. I do not use picks, I play with my fingers with two sounds on my amp : clean and crunch.

I would like to change pickups, because the "hum" in the split position is a problem for me now.

I have two questions :
1 - I would like to have your feeling about a stk S2 hot stack on the neck position. Do this pickup works well with the Mac Carty humbcker bridge ? Is there any troubles to do that ? Do you know a better choice for the pickup ?

2 - With the stk S2 hot stack, hum cancelling, on the neck. I would like to know if the "hum" is on or off, in position 2 with STK S2 "full" hum cancelling and Humbucker Mac Carty split in single coil ?

Thank you all for the answers that I have already find in your forum and I have to apologize for my very bad english. I'm a little frog swimming in an ocean of pick up.

Re: Hot stack neck on PRS Mac Carty

I've been a McCarty owner for a long time, and one thing I do is clip the coil splitting lead for the bridge pickup, while keeping it for the neck. I like being able to flick the switch between a hum/hum or a hum/single.

I've mostly used the C5/59, which is great in a PRS but a tiny bit pushed.....but I've given a lot of thought to McCartys. I'm really inclined to think that a 59B/PGn in nickel 4 lead is what I should really go for. If I had to recommend a set right now, it'd be 59b/PGn.

Thank you for the advice.

When you clip the coil splitting lead and play single neck/hum bridge, do we hear the single "hum" ?
