Re: Hotone Heart Attack

hmm ive seen alot of demos through 4x12s i wonder how loud they can get they look so.... widdle? i am curious if through the right cab the tiny hotone amps could be gigable.

Re: Hotone Heart Attack

I would say better for practice and recording than gigging. Not much call for Mesa tones at coffee shop levels, y'know?

Re: Hotone Heart Attack

Surgeon's recommendations alone had me sold, but after checking out this demo, I def want one!! Hopefully on the other side of my childs issue, there will be a chance to buy gear and not sell..
Here is the demo: (at the end he runs thru a 4x12) Sounds pretty good with the Hotone cabs too. One other note... ID LOVE to go to the store this dude is at!! TONS of gear!!

This Demo makes me want one of their harmony pedals too! Haha

Re: Hotone Heart Attack

I doubt it for a gig, but maybe for practice, provided the guitarist keeps himself under control.

Re: Hotone Heart Attack

I was just playing mine through through my thiele (which sounds pretty friggin' sweet). After a few minutes the volume started going up and down, then down down down- and nothing. Without hesitation I decided to buy another one. Had it for a year or two, love it. If it costs me $100 per year to keep replacing,so be it. Totally worth it. Played around with the connections, found the nut on the fx loop send was a little loose, tightened it up-BAM. Good as new. Need to get the Purple Wind now.

Re: Hotone Heart Attack

Pilatvs: with these symptoms I was gonna say check your effects loop but you got there anyways, glad you sorted it out!

I don't think it'd be a gig-worthy amp volume-wise. I've never encountered a band where these tone were used along with a reasonable 2nd guitarist and a light-handed drummer... 5w of ss power wouldn't cut it imho.

Re: Hotone Heart Attack

Update: I was so impressed with the "head" that I decided to give their tiny cab a try. I rarely buy stuff with basically no reviews on the web but I was really floored by that amp.

Again: this thing is really impressive considering its size. It sounds a bit "grainier" than my 2x12 with Emi Governors but it's not a bad thing and I don't hear/feel any boxiness. The bass response is great for such a small speaker. The volume is, of course, very manageable which makes it a great practice amp in apartments and such spaces where volume is to be kept to a minimum.

I wouldn't have believed such a tiny cab could've sounded so good. I haven't tried many tiny speakers/cabs though so I don't have a good sample for reference.

Anyways, I thought you guys would like to know that even their cabs are great pieces.

I honestly stopped thinking about that but I'm sure you're not the only one ;) (Jolly would agree with you I'm sure).

It's fun but it's, IMHO, more than just fun as it's a great sounding little rig. It won't do more than house volume of course but tone-wise (at this volume) it really amazes me.

good info!!! thanks for yet more GAS!

Re: Hotone Heart Attack

I just picked up the Hotone speaker cab for $70 on Amazon...

Sent from my iPad using a bunch of electrons, copper, and probably some fiber optic cable

Re: Hotone Heart Attack

These are great little amps for practicing or low volume recording. I see them from tine to time locally and I'm tempted to snag one or 2.

Re: Hotone Heart Attack

I see its also got an effects loop. Technically if you wanted it louder you could plug the send into the effect return of a larger amp and go direct to its power section. Only thing, you'd want to find out if you can run this amp without a speaker load... Or just connect a speaker with the expectation the larger amp will drown it out anyway.

You can, it's solid-state. Furthermore, the headphone out can be used w/o a speaker connected.

Re: Hotone Heart Attack

Cool. The usefulness of these amps beyond practice and recording just got expanded as long as the preamp pushes enough signal that your bigger amp's power section can get it to jam or gig levels.

The headphone jack is the biggest plus for me, as 90% of my playing is done thru my zoom 505 with headphones late at night

It sounds good but not as good as the amp plugged to a cab obviously, although I haven't done any A/B'ing between the headphone out and my new tiny cab... to be tested.
