Re: how can I be liking this $550 new axe more than all my others?

I've repeatedly tried to connect with an Ibby but was unsuccessful.
I'll try again when I have the money for my next Shredder guitar.
However the closest I've ever come was with an RGT42DX (no FM, we don't have this here, instead we get one with the "Iron pewter solid finish")...

Still, I kinda feel like Ibanez makes better low and mid-end guitars than it does high-end ones. It's almost as if you go for an Ibby that's more than 800$ worth then you might have taken a wrong turn somewhere. Nothing to back this up with, just a feeling I have in my gut...
Still, solid, solid axes, especially in the lower end models...

If it sounds good, it is good!!
If it moves you and encourages you to play... GO for it..
I couldn't have said it better myself man.
More often than not people worry more about how much sth costs than how much they like it...
Sad...

I feel like an old duffer in that Cocoon movie cuz I ain't been this drunk on playin since around 1994 when I got my Ernie Ball Van Halen

just stopped playin it all of a sudden last night and realized how far down the various paths the Lady in this piece of Wood had brought me, and how different it was

my playing has changed in better sounding, more musical leaps noticeably in recent weeks. I can't imagine a faster playing guitar. Action physically cannot get any lower than this is. It is the most effortless to play instrument I daresay I may be pretty sure I think I've ever played. And despite all of that it is deep and full and sweet and clear. Pretty good present I got myself in time for Christmas. It's done wonders for my mood.

This is great news! Cost has nothing to do with it.. You found the one that you are connecting with.. Remember, EVH's 5150 was a parts project. He didnt pay big money for it and it has been his number one for years and has made legendary music on it. I like the feeling of playing expensive guitars, but I think more about protecting them than letting loose on them.
Keep rocking and enjoy!!
