How can I get this tone?

Re: How can I get this tone?

what's the body/neck material? is it a fixed tremolo? you should check out the tone wizard and listen to audio samples in this forum to find the tone you want. other than that, i wouldn't advise trying to copy someone else's tone.

Re: How can I get this tone?

Body is Alder, neck is maple. It's a floating trem... and I'll check out the wizard, thanks.

Re: How can I get this tone?

air norton in the neck.. i guess.. try listening to the air norton clips in the dimarzio site, sounds similar.. check it out

Re: How can I get this tone?

The group's name is Nightmare. Thanks for the replies.

Edit: Well, since I only have singles I'd have to go for the Air Norton S. It says on the site that it has the same tonal characteristics as the original... I'll check it out.

By the way, what would you describe the tone as?

Thanks guys!

the Air Noton.. never actually tried it but they say that its a warm pup. unique in a good way, good for smooth soloing. someone described it here as a modern romantic.. its uniqely warm and still bites because it handles harmonic overtones, which is rare for a neck pup..

ey you gotta hear clips from erikH.. he has an AirZone in the Bridge and an AirNortonS (single coil) in the neck on his wicked warmoth super strat. just make an adcance search on him. he inspired me with the AZ and the AN. im planning on purchasing both for my ibanez..

BTW the AZ is the AirBucker version of the famous ToneZone, while the AN is the Airbucker version of the Norton.. DiMarzio designed airbuckers to make it more dynamic, and articlulate. this is cool if you want to be versatile. but if you want something hot, go for the tonezone in the bridge, and norton in the neck.. but a lot here compliments the AZ AN combo. somebody described it like peanutbutter and jelly, hehe if you know what i mean... FYI, hope i can i help..
