Msawitzke, he was a member that wasn't completely active but somehow managed to rack up a few insensitive and tasteless posts. One of the best moments with him, when he wasn't being that much of fool, was when he got into a funny (but friendly) argument with Scott in Scott's 'System of a Down sucks' thread. Hilarious. After reading that, he started up a thread along the lines of 'Scott sucks'.

I love the 5150.... It is my main amp. I own an old JCM 800 that has been gain modded and it still does not have the balls or the gain of a stock 5150. I like the 800 for different reasons. The 5150 has been used in the studio by so many metal and hard rock bands and then on tour they use other amps to fill their gear contract. I use the 5150 as it was a cheap and easy way for me to get close to Pete Townshends Live At Leeds tone without buying an extremely exspensive Hiwatt and modding the nuts out of it! Or buying the PT Hiwatt model and cab for about $5000 Canadian... Nuts to that. The 5150 is not just for metal.... it has some amazing rock tones if you sit and play around with it and keep the gain down.
The combo version i have never owned but i do know they really worked on getting the clean channel right.. But if i remember right there should be a little crunch switch that will change the sound of the clean channel to a nice rythym distortion.... I could be wrong on that. It would be a little white plastic push in switch.... My 5150's Lead channel also is a bit noisey. The rythym channel is not bad at all but the lead channel is noisey... There is a hell of a lot of gain there. Try getting your combo's Rythym channel distorted.. it will be pretty gainy and a lot quieter...
My modded 800 head has more noise then my 5150's lead channel... i sent my 800 back to the tech 3 times and each time he would make it a little better and a little better... Now i'm at the point it is going back to stock! I hate that much noise!

A 21 year old man who still lives with his parents and whose Mom still cooks for him and does his laundry doesn't get to rag on those that use the money they earn to pay their way in life.
....once no one can claim you as a dependent on your taxes...then you can make wild acusations about amps entirely too big for your needs which you're unable to get a good sound out of.
