I am trying to build a HS guitar with a piezo pickup and i'm wondering how to wire it up. Specifically i wanted to use the fishman powerbridge and run it stereo through a top output jack and a side one. I'm wondering what all i need to do to wire it up. Any help is much appreciated, thanks.

Welcome to the forum!

Before anyone can help, we'd need to know what other pickups will be in the guitar, and what the knobs and switches will do.

Fishman, themselves, have great documentation, in downloadable PDF format, that will probably cover this. If I was going to try to answer this, I'd first go there, read up, then parrot what they said.

Here's the link. Scroll down to the "Powerbridge" section. That's probably what you want.

Installing a Fishman bridge is made much easier with their PowerChip, which serves as both a volume control and a smart switching device. The PowerChip can detect whether you’re using a mono or stereo cable and adjusts by splitting or not splitting the signal accordingly.

When setting up, focus on your piezo and magnetic signal chains as separate entities, knowing that they will ultimately join together through a switch. Start by configuring your magnetic pickups and piezo system independently, then connect them using your chosen switching device—most commonly, a traditional toggle switch.

As Artie mentioned, Fishman’s website offers a wealth of valuable information to guide you through this process. And as Mincer pointed out, it’s important to consider the specifics of your guitar, magnetic pickups, and the particular Fishman bridge model you’re using for optimal results.

the powerchip sounds like a cool product

It does. This forum is costing me too much money.

BTW, looking at the instructions, if anyone is uncomfortable with drilling into their Stratocaster, a standard stereo jack can be used with a simple mini on-off switch mounted in the pickguard. (Which would be reversible.)

Funny because I was looking to convert my Les Paul to a master volume and wondered what to do with the unused pot. I thought why not a piezo pickup and found Fishman Powerbridge.

You can wire in 3 ways, according to documentation:
  1. totally passive with direct to stereo jack where tip/sleeve is magnetic pickups output and rig/sleeve is piezo output
  2. adding a passive volume control to #1
  3. with Powerchip, as mentioned before, where you can mix with you magnetic pickups using a TS cable or separate outputs using a TRS cable, same as #1. This need a 9v battery.
