How do I wire up a speaker cabinet?

Okay I need some advice from the pros...and which pros do I trust more than the ones here on this board :D

I've just got a few different cabs and I want to do some speaker swaps.

I have a 412 with only two speakers left in it which is wired to 8ohms currently, and a 212 with two greenbacks in it also wired to 8ohms. I want to take the two greenbacks out of the 212 and put them into the 412 which is where they originally came from. The 412 was originally wired to 16 ohms (total of three greenbacks and one G12H30).

Then I've got another 412 which currently has four G12H30 blackbacks in it...I want to take two of them and put them in my 212.

So...is this an easy task if I can solder :bigok:

Your speakers should have clips on them so if you do not know how to solder you can by some crimp lugs or find someone local wiht 14 AWG or so and have them make them for you. The two links already provided give you all the connnection info you need.

Hey I never thought of using crimp lugs...I can solder just fine but wouldn't crimp lugs actually be a better bet if I can be bothered putting them on?

Re: How do I wire up a speaker cabinet?

No one seemed to answer this last time...would it be advisable to use crimp lugs instead of just soldering straight to it if I can bothered?

i'd solder if i were you. soldering speaker terminals is probably one of the easiest things to do......
