How do you like your rectifiers?

Just a quick poll, I just got to wondering if anyone else preferred solid state over tube. This may just end up being a poll about how loud you play.

Depends on type of music I’m playing at he moment. Sometimes I like the sag but solid state is more stable, higher voltage.

Triple, set to silicon diode. Dials like so,

To tell the truth though my best live tone came from running my Triple through a 4x12" slant Recto cab & a Marshall Valvestate 8100 through a big closed back 2x12 with V30's as well, simultaneously.

Love the sag of a tube rectifier. My Marshall's got it, and so does my Fender.

I setup the first three channels as Tube rectifier and channel 4 as solid state. My other amps are what they are... Fender is Tube, Marshall and Splawn are diode.

Yes, used to be. Modded it to '68 50w specs, but kept the tube rectifier.

My Blue Angel uses a dual format- but you can't choose- both are being used all the time. It sounds wonderful, though.

I always liked Mesa Rectifiers set to Modern, Diode, and Bold. IMO, that is >THE< Recto tone, ironically.
