How do you mark your guitar cases?

The theives will appreciate your efforts so that they know which ones are worth the most.

If I get hit by a bus it could also help the people who inherit all my stuff.

i have different cases for everything but i also almost exclusively use the double bag bruce gifted me. i always bring two guitars to gigs, but seldom more. the guitars in the bag change depending on the gig.

I've been doing the painter's tape / Sharpie thing for decades. But they do fade and/or fall off eventually.
Label maker seems like a good idea - might get myself one.

I don't put the make/model/year on them, just each guitar's given name.
Of course, when I take one out of the house, it's normally in a gig bag.

I have a couple of molded universal type hard cases that I used to travel with.
They're marked with brightly colored tape, but not labeled as to the contents.

Spray paint on the outside

You could just open them and see



You could get small stencils or a paint pen
and write a code number on the outside
Matched with a inventory list taped to the back of a closet door

Or just write on the case with the pen the contents
