Re: How do you transport your amp?

it would be nice to have the sound of a 412 in a combo! I settle for my 212 cause a 112 would not sound the same as dual speakers in one enclosure...

but I would not mind a tiny terror combo ;) savin up, pups are first...

Re: How do you transport your amp?

I'm still lugging a half stack to gigs. The Shiva is heavy by itself, and I'm very protective of it, so it stays in an ATA case, which adds 20 lbs... Then there is the 4x12... with no casters...

thats insane dude! get a cart to save ur back, or a smaller rig

Re: How do you transport your amp?

2 amp heads, one 4x12, and a pedal board, plus guitars, is my regular gig kit.

I use a dolly since neither of my 4x12s have casters, and a Multi-Cart for the rest, which is the best invention since sliced bread!

Re: How do you transport your amp?

Y'know weight is one of the biggest things that kept me from buying an AC30.
I'd be lying if I said that weight wasn't an issue.

a trolley helps to and from the car... but I'd need an elevator before I started lugging around anything bigger than my DRRI.

Ditto. That's the biggest factor keeping me from trading in the TSL. Although being on the floor I'm on, it wouldn't be that bad

I have a cover on it and I use a folding dolly to wheel it around.

I bought a folding trolley the other day (hence the idea for the thread). Turns out, it likes to fold even with stuff on it. Damn POS, gotta make another trip to the store, hopefully they'll be able to solve this problem...

We're talking about this, right? Because this looks pretty cool!

Yes!

I had two, but one was stolen from the Green Room @ L'Amour in Brooklyn (That's right, Maelstrom! I know you stole it!!!).

I still have the other and use it on a near-daily basis!

Re: How do you transport your amp?

What size venues are you playing?
Large bars/small lounge type venues. We only use reinforcement for the vox and maybe the kick drum in the places we play. It's all about stage volume for rock!

Sounds a bit like this:

Re: How do you transport your amp?

I'm screwed whenever I have to move it, which is barely ever... For now...

Damn B-52 AT412 480W cab...or 4x12's in general. The cherry on top is a est-70 pound 200W head. (But I like their sound)

The one I got is from Home Depot or Lowe's. Can't remember. No issues. Folds flat for transport. I move the amp, a briefcase on top of it and another bag strapped around the handle with.

Re: How do you transport your amp?

I carry my 1x12 cab with both arms and the Tweaker goes inside my backpack.

Pretty easy to move around. :)

Re: How do you transport your amp?

I usually carry it to my car, drive to where I'm going to play, carry it and play.

However I do have a cart with wheels so i can take the lazy approach when necessary.

I play egnater 15 watt heads into 2x12 cabs.

Re: How do you transport your amp?

I use my band mate's multi cart, like the one Markk posted for my 2x12 cab, and if I'm using my combo amp, then I carry it in both arms across my chest. The top handle on amps that weigh more than 40 pounds is a waste, to me...I'd much rather put my left hand on the bottom/front corner of the left side, and my right hand on the top/front corner of the right side.

Re: How do you transport your amp?

I wish I had an elevator in the apartment building , always have to carry the rig up & down the stairs with some help from one of the band mates.

Re: How do you transport your amp?

I have my amp broken into two rack cases...

My Mesa/Boogie 2:Ninety power amp is in one case.

My Mesa Triaxis, TC G-major, and Furman power strip are in a second case.

Each case is a hair shy of 50 lbs, so they're manageable.

Re: How do you transport your amp?

My amp thinks like a cat.

It doesn't move. It's the earth that does, so it's the earth's problem to provide casters.

Re: How do you transport your amp?

In the trunk/boot or back seat, grille down. I hope to get a good folding cart soon.

Re: How do you transport your amp?

back of jeep - carry with handle - it is heavy.
