It's not too hard but it is time consuming. A little frisket and some spray paint will get you there. I actually used that Paint Your Own Guitar stuff you can find in magazines or HERE. I have an old Carvin kit that I got creative with.

I had a guitar that I painted camo on and it turned out pretty cool. Problem is I can't find it now. ;)

Those all look cool...I've got one that was painted "BULLSEYE CAMO" & "FAUX BINDING" on a 1991 Ibanez Gunslinger 550 for my son (1991 Ibanez RG550 Neck & 1991 B.C. Rich Gunslinger/Assassin Body).

A friend did it in his garage and it wasn't too bad a process from what I saw/heard.

Been a couple of years, but it's held up pretty well thus far with only a couple of dings/dents from being owned by a 10 year old!

There are any number of ways to do this on a guitar sized project.

You can cut masks using painters tape easily. Just lay tape down on the non-sticky side together until you get a large sheet of it, then cut masks.

You can use soft plastic sheet to cut shapes. It will stick to the paint or you can use almost any tacky substance to hold it on for a moment. They make decals - look for them. Go for soft edge camo. Clear decal/sticker sheet for computers and cut patterns out.

The Duracoat site will show you a ton of color/pattern options.

Tiger stripe is cool, but I don't think that I'd go for drab camo colours . . .

Well, this has worked lots 'o times on rifles and shotguns, so it should work OK on a guitar.

Krylon works fine, plus, you can remove it later without too much trouble if you change bands........:cool2:

Oh, yeah, don't lay it down in the woods and walk away too far.................
