Got the c90 or v30 in that rectoverb?
Have you stayed with the stock tubes or tried others?

I've stuck with Mesa-branded for both 6L6 and EL34 and all the pre except for v1 tung-sol,,the tung-sol has made my rectifiers all just a little bit better IMO.
I might try a complete high-gain metal Doug's Tubes kit in one dual recto head when I need tubes anyway, just to see what happens.

I have the Ruby 6L6GCMSTR that Doug recommends in the Rectoverb now and like them a lot. It came with what I'm guessing were the stock STR430's, so not really a good comparison for tone. Some jackass had swapped the speaker out of a Vox VTX120 into it, so I never had the chance to hear the stock speaker. Put a spare Wizard that I had lying around in and it sounds decent, though I would like something a little less efficient for the sake of SPL vs amp volume, as I can't crank it up too much without blowing the house down. How does the stock speaker sound? Have been contemplating a Recto 2x12 to go with it for better low end.

A head or a combo counts, as does a rack-based solution. A head or rack amp counts even if you don't have a dedicated cabinet for it. If you have a preamp pedal and a pedalboard or rack power amp, that counts as an amp. I suppose a small battery-powered mini amp also counts. For extra fun, post pics of your smallest amps.

Clearly it's just me, but I never cared for Mesa amps. I think when you're playing rhythm they sound huge and thick but as soon as you start soloing it all falls apart...

Do you know the approximate year of that tremoverb? (I see it has the pointer-knobs so must be before 97/98)
Has it ever had the switching problem from the LDR-issue they had? (mostly mid-90s units if I recall)
What tubes have you found yourself to like best in it?

That is the traditional-size (stiletto) 412 right?
Doesn't look oversized-recto but pics often trick my eyes.
