Hi gearheads. Thanks for all the great comraderie.
I just grabbed an off-brand bass with a split-p in the neck, and a doubled-up J in the bridge (4 coils in all).
I intend to hard-wire the p-coils in series, and will probably do a series tap on the double-J.
My question: is there a practical limit to how many coils can run in series? I am foreseeing a monstrosity where ALL 4 coils are in series... the coils in series with themselves, and the pickups in series with each other... Mwaaaaa ha haaaa... has this ever been done?
