How Many Gibson ES Series Guitars Are There?

Re: How Many Gibson ES Series Guitars Are There?

It seems like every other day, a new 345 or 336 or 339 or some other ES I had never heard of shows up.

The 345? New? 1959! It is even older than I am! :D

Thanks for posting this. I'm gonna go play my ES-339 right now.

Re: How Many Gibson ES Series Guitars Are There?

Gibson's 'golden years' were the late 1940's to mid 1960's (Ted McCarty was in charge). That's when many 'Electric Spanish' (ES) guitars were introduced. Almost all of their guitars since then have been modifications on the originals.

Think of what Gibson introduced in 1958 alone: 335, 355, Flying V, Explorer, EB-2 (335 bass), and the flame top LP Std.
