How much has your choice of guitars changed?

I do not know? I see angle shaped guitars. But I dislike skulls, satan themed crap, demons drawings, and other things like the Ouija board ESP guitars. None of these for me.

Those are ridiculous. I don't think anyone liked the Devil Girls. Like, ever.

I do like the bat inlays on the soon-to-be-mine Paul Allender SE.

I started out with a Strat for the first 20 years of playing. Then I went to something lighter and Strat-shaped with humbuckers. I am always looking for better refinements of the design.

I like skull inlay, other than that I save skulls for my guitar straps. I do not have any guitars with skull inlay, but I would take a Les Paul Voodoo with the skull at the 5th.

Used to be more into Gibson style guitars. Now, I'm mainly a Fender style guy. I didn't stop liking Gibsons, but I started liking Fenders a whole lot more.

It's kind of like going "full circle," because I started with a Strat, and it was my only guitar for a good 12 years, at least.

Started on Les Pauls, went through a Strat (Super Avianti) to Superstrats, and have stayed there since. The only other real development is that I have got more fond of simpler designs over the years; my current favourite is a single-H.

Not at all. I still love a LP with humbuckers. It's my main, to go, axe. I did start to appreciate tele's, though, as well as the BC Rich Bich. But practically speaking... LP all the way.

Even in terms of amps I didn't change that much. I still love the JCM800/SLO tone I loved 10 years ago. Only difference is that I get that tone from a Revv because they're a bit friendlier to dial in. Otherwise... no changes. Only change is that I learned to appreciate medium output pickups instead of the firebreathing monsters I used to appreciate.

I used to worship guitars with graphics, George Lynch's Skulls and Snakes, Gary Hoey's Hamer, Floral Jem were the thing. Now I think they look cheap and so amateurish.

Also, guitars with ornate appointments, quilted maple, MOP/ abalone inlays, multi ply necks, gold hardware; now I just want to vomit all over it every time I see one.

I started out on Les Paul and big semi-hollow, or hollow guitars. I finally settled on SGs and 335, 339 type semis so I can have unrestricted access to the upper part of the neck.

It's funny, my taste hasn't changed much at all. I like Gibson-style and oddball guitars with narrow necks I can wrap my fingers around. I like humbuckers and fixed bridges and love the look of a Bigsby and always have. I prefer black or dark tobacco burst finish with no pickguard or tort pickguard. I prefer cream pickups and dark rosewood or ebony fretboards and 3-on-a-side headstocks. I have always had a strong preference for vintage looks and don't like modern styles. 80% of the guitars I have owned had most of these features and several had all of these features.

Don't get me wrong, I tried some things along the way but the single coil guitars, wide-neck guitars, flat radius guitars, and strat-style guitars quickly found new homes.

The only big change of heart is before I played one I thought the SG was the ugliest guitar ever made. Then I tried a couple and one became my main guitar for several years. They became beautiful to me based on the feel and sound.

I come from a world of pointy Jacksons and BC Riches and a loathing of Teles and Jazzmasters, to the complete opposite.

My current thing are SuperStrats. But the pointy ones are all gone now. Both my Deans are up for sale as we speak.

Still play Metal, just like when I began, though.
