honestly i haven't spent all that much money on gear. i've gotten most of it for birthdays over a 4-5 year period. but i'll count it anyways.

epiphone strat(service merchandise special ) - $150
epiphon les paul- $400
marshall avt150 combo- $900
san dimas III charvel- $600 (though worth about a little less than $2000!!!!)
charvel model 1- $200(this i bought with MY money)
digitech rp200- $150
59 trembucker- $75
distortion humbucker- $75
dimarzio evo- $80
dimarzio super distortion- $70
dimarzio super distortion- $70
duncan custom- $75
vox wah- $100
cords- i would gues about $200 -$300. i odnt go through cords very much
lessons- lets see, 20 per week for 4 years? minus about a month for vacations and stuff? probably something like $1000
picks- i would guess about $50

that adds up to about $4255 in 4 years!!!
thats all hahahaha
ofcourse that will become more as soon as i can get the $$$ for a new amp and guitars and stuff.

i live less than 20 minutes drive from Bill's .. it's a pretty good place, but nothing spectacular .. they don't budge much on price either, but they'll ususally throw in some freebies on accessories when you buy a guitar ... there is a Guitar Center in Towson which is ... well ... guitar center ... i've heard real good things about Atomic music in College Park .. and Chuck Levin's in Wheaton is real good too ... good luck

I've had great luck with Bill's.. i picked up a used Shure Beta 58 for $90.. great condition too. But the thing i like about them is the friendly nature of the people, very helpful. There is a dealer closer to my area (Eastern Shore) and its GREAT for guitars.. all quality stuff but the amps aren't as wide a selection

Confession: *I have never stepped foot in a guitar center!*.. ill have to check out Atomic.. it'll be a bit of a drive but its worth it i suppose
