See full stacks? Never anymore. I gig with a 57 Twin, but I play it on 3.
I bet a cranked AC30 is louder than a 100 watt plexi.![]()

A Twin on 3 is freaking loud especially if you are pushing it with a boost/overdrive
Tweeds and BF Twins are not the same. 57 Twin on 3 is basement volume (practice volume when my drummer is using rods instead of sticks). It doesn't get unruly until you push it over 4.
Gotcha. On three, my Silverface Quad (same head as a Twin) will shatter windows. I never played a Tweed Twin, but I would love to. Though a Tweed Bassman was the first amp I ever played through that blew my socks off.
Shameful to admit, but I've never full-stacked my two Mesa oversized 412s. One is a 2011 true straight-baffle and the other is a late 90s slant-baffle/straight-shell.
I'm not even sure I could see the head's settings if it was on top. That would be a tall stack!
This raises the question, who is still buying full stacks and why do you prefer them?
