hello guys first of all apologize for my bad english.
here is a description of the bumblebee 79 pickups
the Bumblebee’s original Mighty Mite bridge pickups with a DiMarzio® Super Distortion humbucking pickup. But first he exchanged its ceramic magnet for an alnico 2 magnet from a Gibson® PAF, rewound the pickup by hand, dipped it in paraffin wax and put copper tape around the windings.. for me is a closer
for me it's closer of custom custom sh 11 because used same magnets alnico 2 ,same wire gauge 43awg poly , and resistence dc around of 13,5 14k what yours thinks thanks a lot

The "rewound by hand" part kinda throws everything out the window. If Ed truly rewound it by hand, only people that have handled that pickup know anything about it, unless you buy a bumblebee guitar to measure the pickup.

Soundwise, most say VH1 sounds like a ceramic magnet, but I can't tell that just from listening to it. FWIW, the Custom Custom is a great sounding pickup, and hard to go wrong with it, and it will give you the early VH sound, whether it gives you the sound you are looking for depends a lot on the rest of the signal chain.

I’m no EVH expert, but I thought that the pickup which was rewound was the humbucker Eddie took from his Gibson to put in Frankie?
I was also under the impression that the Mighty Mite humbucker was in the Ibanez Destroyer.

The information on the EVHgear.com disagrees with me, though, although I find their wording confusing.

Ultimately though, are you interested in what the pickup in that guitar was, or in how to recreate the tone of that era of Van Halen?
If it’s the former, you will probably never find out the truth, because it is surrounded by myths, legends, confusion, and lies.

VH1 NOT a CC. Not similar, not close, not even in the ballpark.

Do you want the sound? Or is this a time travel science project?

yeah, custom custom is better suited for the later DLR stuff like for example the „panama“ song.
for VHII a PAFish PU will work best.

are you asking about the humbucker in the evh bumblebee reissue or the actual VHII bumblebee? if it's the reissue, it's very close spec wise to the evh/sd frankenstein pickup, which is like an improved cc imo. if you're asking about the actual bumblebee, good luck. in addition to all of evh's secrets and red herrings about his tone, that guitar had a bunch of pickup swaps as well.
