How to do awesome pick scrapes!!!

whenever im jamming to van halen tracks such as panama or im the one or a really other good van halen track i notice my pick scrapes SUCK!!! can anyone give me tips on how to do awesome pick scrapes.
do you press really hard into the strings?? Do you hold it a certain way???
do you use your fret hand??? etc.
if anyone can give me any tips on how to do wiked pick slides , particularly van halen style pick scrapes that would be great.

What I do is start on the D string, and make my way over to the low E while scraping towards the headstock. That way the "screetch" goes from high to low. I don't scrape for a long distance.

Usually I scrape for a short distance, and then slide my left hand ring finger down the low E string. When you learn to make the transition seamless, it sounds awesome.

EDIT: I don't know how to post clips, so I dug up a couple old ones that where really short, and contained a pick scrape. I've sent them to your private email, or at least the one you listed in your control panel.
