Re: How to get a humbucker sound out of a p90 guitar?
Mantic I got the Dimarzio SD P-90 installed. It took alot longer than expected. The Dimarzio pickup is a little larger than the cutout for the bridge slot so I had to sand it down little by litte to fit the pickup in.
Well I have to say I like it alot more than the stock Peavey P-90, but I don't quite remember the full size Super Distortion being so middy, maybe its just the guitar as its a mahogany body.
I got so used to playing my Duncan Distortion and my Dimarzio Super III, this seems like it will take some getting used to, but it can get metal tones which is what I expected.
As far as it sounding as full as a regular Super Distortion, I can't say, I'm going by memory since it was a while ago that I had a guitar with a SD in it. I have a couple SD's lying around but they aren't installed in anything at the moment.
Well here is a small sound byte:
Peavey Firenza w/ Dimarzio P-90 Super Distortion
Mantic :thanks: for motivating me to get this in my guitar, I have been putting this off for a couple of months already.
