the pedal is fantastic. does the job.

I tried one briefly, but had horrible tone suck issues. Strangely enough the same two amps were fine with a Morley A/B/Y.

Yea but who is going to carry the rig after the gig?

That's such a killer Marshall rig!

The first thing that comes to mind when turning one amp into two amps is the Bad Cat Unleash.
That's a cool piece of gear.

Back when I used multi amp rigs, the Lehle stuff did what it was supposed to do, but their switches kept getting my cable stuck under them......odd problem I never expected.

A friend of mine I used to play with had a Soldano Avenger and a single channel Orange (whichever one JP used at the Zep Reunion show) and he used one of the above radial boxes. I used it and it sounded like it wasn't buffered, while I'm guessing the Morley is.

I use a Bogner Shiva combo & a Komet 60. I like the Shiva for the drive & the Komet for cleans. I had used a Morley A/B/Y, but I was getting a lot of bleed from one side to the other, so I was on the hunt for a solid A/B/Y to replace it. At the time Radial didn't really have anything that was pedalboard friendly & I almost ordered a LeLe A/B/Y but I ordered a loop master A/B/Y and it works really well. Generally when using two amps you really need something that has Ground loop transformers but for some reason the Loop Master cleaned up the signal & isolated each side perfectly. It was a great investment.

This is great for someone with a roadie, but I play single channel amps, or don't use the channels (in the case of my HRDlx). A drive pedal (Soul Food, OCD, TS, etc) does the job... this is a pretty niche solution, though I'm sure it's super fun!

me. i'm not 80.

yes, it's not buffered. they do make a buffered version of the same pedal.

as for pedals. it's just not the same to alter the feed signal. there's nothing like tube gain.

Re: how to make marshall single channel amps into two channel amps

I use a weber amp switcher, between the amps and the speakers. No tone loss, no switching noise, and trailing effects are carried over.

Allows a 6l6 amp on top off an el34 amp, through the same speakers, to get base fender vs marshall type tones, versus trying to get a marshall tone from a 6l6 amp with pedals. I still use a bunch of dirt pedals because one amp is single channel, and the same pedal thru different amps produces very different end results.

It can also be set up to have one amp for clean (plus any clean boosts if wanted) and the other with some other dirt pedal, so that all that's needed is one foot switching action between the two, versus many (to turn off the clean boost and also engage the dirt pedal, etc). And a much bigger tonal jump that just swiching off a dirt pedal within the same.

Re: how to make marshall single channel amps into two channel amps

thanks.

yes, the objective was to have a clean or slightly clipped amp and a tube saturated amp for the clean and dirty channel effect. the 1987 breaks up too soon for louder cleans so next time i will use a 1959RR/JCM 800 combo.

the fender clean/marshall dirty idea is bang on. i've always been a fan of the fender 6L6 clean sounds. it's a benchmark for clean tones. i may have to dig out my old bassman silverface head from storage.

I do kind of the same thing, but I bring in a 2nd amp w the ABY as a solo boost. :)
