How to remove a Gibson abr bridge retaining wire? - question

Hi all

I'm in the process of changing the saddles for my ABR bridge on my LP.
It has this retaining wire which I have no clue how to take it off.
I'm just afraid that I may damage the wire and as a result of using much force and couldn't put it back in.

It there somehow any procedure or something to remove the retaining pin and putting it back? It doesn't look as simple it is.

Please helppppppp

thanks

nope, just pull it out at each side where it slides into the bridge. but dont pull too hard because its thin wire and you dont want to break it. Dont sweat it too much though

thanks bro
Will try.
If I reverse the saddle direction, any harm?

I realize that the 1st 4 saddles are facing towards the bridge while the last 2 saddles are away.
Is there some rule to this?

nope not at all. people usually turn the saddles around anyways to give them more intonation range
