hey people i have a noob question, how can I test my pickups? I have invader in the neck and dimebucker at the bridge and for some reason the invader sounds more aggresive than the dimebucker and that cant be, can it? I tried switching the wires but still. How can I test the pickups to find out when I switch which one is on?

Re: how to test pickup

nevermind i figured it out how to test which are on, but my invader is about equal that sucks, I thought dimebucker was supposed to be a beast.

Re: how to test pickup

I don't have an Invader (though it's on my must try list). But the dimebucker is more of trebly lead pickup. I've got one and I like the lead tons. The rhythm tons don't seem crushing. Also, what kind of guitar are you pups in? Do you like the invader in the neck? How is it for clean tones?

Re: how to test pickup

Both have DC Resistance around 16k and as far as output goes, they are both about the same. Very different tonally though. I would not reccomend the invader for the neck position. Too powerful & bassy. But if you dig it...

The Invader neck model is like 7.2k, and probably a bit brighter than the bridge model.

Re: how to test pickup

well mr usagi yes its very bassy and yes its powerful its a very high output pickup for the neck, I actually like it alot, I assume the brdige Invader holds its own quite well against the dimebucker and its like 15 dollars less. My guitar is an Ibanez rg350dx basswood. Could be better but its good for me. I say Invader can do everything, cleans are good too.
