alright im take notice from paul gilbert in his early days when he used to wire all his humbucker pickups in paralel for a cleaner tone. im looking at at the wiring diagrams that comes with the pickups and it's of no use. the guitar i want to do it to has no pickup switch so i just want it to be parallel all teh time rather than having teh choice to make it parallel or not with a switch.,

it's a 59 trembucker, so just tell me whihc wires to solder on or off.

thanks, Jim :)

Re: how to wire pickup in parallel?

Just do black and red soldered together for "hot".

And green and white soldered together for "ground". ;)

Re: how to wire pickup in parallel?

Well, yeah. The braided ground wire thats connected to the base plate is always ground. That doesn't really affect sound, its just a noise shield - sorta. ;)

Re: how to wire pickup in parallel?

okay

i did it and noticed a big improvement in tone!!!!!!
very clear, which is the tone i like. i dont like mushy, compressed tones. i glad i did this, i think i might do it to my others now!!

thanks alot

Re: how to wire pickup in parallel?

You're welcome. You know, I've never tried the parallel wiring on a single humbucker. If you say it sounds that good, I'll have to give it a try on one of mine.

Re: how to wire pickup in parallel?

all i know is that it sounds good and i have added clarity. whihc is what i wanted in the first place. :)
