How to wire Seymour Duncan SH-2 to be coil split when pushed

I am trying to wire my Les Paul SH-2 neck pickup to be coil split when pushed in and humbucker'ed when pulled. The reason is my neck pickup is muddy and everything I have tried will not clean it up.

I am using the standard Les Paul wiring and a CTS DPDT push/pull pot.

Currently I have my red/white wired to C1 and a wire coming off of the #2 hole to the ground. This is supposed to ground the red/white when pushed but it does not seem to be working. If it is pushed or pulled nothing seems to change.

Here is my current setup.

The wiring you're showing is correct. So if it isn't working, something is wrong. Here is where a meter is your friend. Anyone who does guitar wiring should have one. They can be had for less than $10. But first, I would double check the ground connection. That's the biggest suspect. Good luck.

That is what I thought. My multi meter read good on the #2 so I am a little lost on what the issue is. I may disconnect the white/red and jumper them directly to the ground. At least that would give me an idea on what was wrong I guess.
