How will I know??

Re: How will I know??

What kind of switch would one use? I wouldnt want to cut and separate without having the option to run it as it is now on the fly. And, if Im cutting both wires, would I have to connect both to the switch? I see myself running as is most of the time. But the option to split would be cool. Im trying to find my sound and so Im all about having options. And, if I was to split em, since id only be running one 16 OHM speaker, I assume I would then have to use the 16 Ohm setting on my amp? What about if I run an effect pedal like a chorus that has two lines out and I run one line to each speaker? Im sorry for so many questions

Re: How will I know??

You would need a DPDT, or they make switching jacks that will take care of switching for you, you plug into one jack to use the cab in mono (8 ohms) or if you plug into the other jack it breaks the connection to split it into stereo so you can use both jacks with one going to each speaker. Don't have time to look them up right now, I'll try to later.

Yes, if it is split, you would have 1 16 ohm speaker for each jack so you would need to set your amp appropriately.

And no, a pedal won't power speakers and you can't run the speaker out from your amp to a pedal, it will smoke the pedal. You would have to run the pedal in front and split it to 2 amps, or run the pedal in the loop and feed one output of the pedal back to the loop return and the other pedal output to the return of another amp or a dedicated power amp. Make sense?

thanks for the link! Yeah, I shoulda known better. I was having a brainfart. Got excited thinking about possibilities and didnt cross my mind that the outs on the pedal have to go to amps.
