Hey, I'm looking into some better recording gear so I don't ahve to use my crappy soundcard and so I can record with my amp. I don't need to record vocals, but I might upgrade to two mics, as I hear the sound quality is better on two mics....

here's a pic of what I'm thinking for a recording rig for now:

here's an explanation: guitar goes to effects board. two outputs come from the effects board, headphones to the toneport and output to the amp. Then the amp goes to the cab, is close mic'ed by the sm-57 and sent to the toneport.

This sound good.

Yea ! I voted !
I have Always felt that good processors had a little something unique to them. I wouldn't necessarily want it as my only sound, but I always felt that a little of it mixed in with a miced amp could really add something.

I was expecting to see you dressed up like Ace Frehley or something when I read "recording outfit". Thought this was a fashion thread.

'whatever's clever' is my answer. i got my best recorded tones using a vocal mic standing on a folding chair in the middle of the room...experiment until it sounds awesome.
