Re: How’s the Polytune 3?

I own the Polytune 2 and it's awesome. I find no need to upgrade to the 3 but if I didn't have the 2 I would absolutely buy the 3. The 2 is fast accurate and easily seen from a standing position. The 3 looks to be a polished version of the 2. I say get it and you won't lust after the 4 when it comes out.

They have a 3? I have a Polytune but I have no idea whether it's an original or a 2. At any rate, I like it.

I guess there is no need to buy it if you don't need a buffer or if you already have it in a separate pedal. I think they put a buffer into it because otherwise Boss would brag how it's a cool thing that their tuners are buffered instead of true bypass because you have a tuner at the very beginni gof your signal chain and stuff...

Anyhow, I bought me the 2 when the 3 was already on the market. Saved like 40 euros.

Is the 3's buffer switchable?

Nevermind. If I wasn't being lazy I would have found out that ... Yes, yes it is.

The switchable buffer is a really, really good idea.

So you can switch it to true bypass or buffered? I can't understand why some companies a) insist on having buffers and b) can't make make switchable off when they do.

I have ages old Korg dt-10 beater. Added true bypass switch to it, so it now has same. Except buffer is switchable with footswitch. Brilliant device now!
