How come Yngwie can get these pickups to sound so hot on "Rising Force" even though they're single coils?
I know he has a ****load of Marshalls on the stage all the time. But normally if you plug a strat into a Marshall and crack the gain it will not sound good.colz10 said:what amps did he use, and overdrive pedals? Quencho showed me his setup once but i forgot...
That's why resistance specs are misleading. Only the top coil is active, and the pickup is HOTTER if you disconnect the bottom (dummy) coil. At that point it would only be 11k. But at only 93mV (according to DiMarzio), there are lots of hotter singles out there.wixomwhat said:Um... Isn't the HS3 a stacked humbucker and its like 22K output or something?
22K is pretty hot.

Nope - see the link I posted above and check out the setup for the Facing the Animal sessions - he has a Tube Screamer in the chain as well as the DOD250. Both stomp boxes are dimed except for the tone knob!!the guy who invented fire said:That's true...no tubescreamer, just the DOD 250
